We want to update you on our progress as we prepare for the upcoming round of collective bargaining.

Our current Collective Agreement will expire on June 30, 2026.

Since August last year, our Bargaining Assistance Team (BAT) has been reviewing our Collective Agreement and your bargaining survey responses to identify key priorities.

In accordance with our bylaws, the CUPE 2424 Executive Board has now appointed the members of our Negotiating Team which includes members of the BAT, our Executive Board, and a member of our Racial Justice Committee. The Negotiating Team members are:

Our Negotiating Team has already begun working to further refine our priorities and draft bargaining proposals, which will be shared at a May 2026 General Membership Meeting. We have proposed to the employer that the upcoming round of collective bargaining should begin earlier than usual, with hopes of starting as early as June.

We are committed to keeping you updated throughout the process and to negotiate the best possible contract for our members, without concessions.
