Strike Update

Thank you to more than 650 members who have hit the picket lines in a powerful demonstration of solidarity and to those performed countless other strike-related duties.  Our strong presence and organization are integral to the success of our strike efforts.  The longer the lines, the shorter the strike!

We are not alone!  CUPE 2424 has seen an outpouring of online support, solidarity letters, donations and picket line visitors demonstrating support for us and our fight to protect pensions.  To name a few: CUPE 4600, CUPE 910, CUPE National, Ontario University Workers Coalition, CUPE 3903, CUASA, CUPE Ontario, UNIFOR 567, United Union of Elevator Constructors, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 279, OPIRG Carleton, UPCE-SEPC, Council of Canadians and many, many more.

Bargaining Update:

CUPE 2424 has expressed its desire to return to the table and continue bargaining toward a negotiated settlement. We cannot, however, accept the University’s proposals that resulted in our current strike action.  We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
